I would like to make a web app that shows people news relevant to their life. The focus of this app is to show people news about topics that they are not interested in enough to closely follow, but would still like to be aware of. The plan for the site is to be super simple, and just an easy way to show people exactly the news brief. Another focus of the site is to be as lightweight as possible to reduce loading times to use less data. This is a two fold effort - reduce energy costs and allow people to browse the site when mobile. To accomplish this, the focus will be the text, and images will likely be eliminated.
Besides this, the site will have a minimalist design, and focus on showcasing the news topics. People will be able to come to the site, input topics that they care about and see news related to them. If they don't want to do that, they will simply be greeted by a default news collection, curated by me.
